Donald Trump, the 47th President of the United States, made a dramatic start to his second term by firing four senior government officials on his first day in office. The announcement, made via his Truth Social account, also included a warning of further dismissals as part of his administration’s efforts to streamline government operations.

The four dismissed officials include:

  • José Andrés, Member of the Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition
  • Mark Milley, Member of the National Infrastructure Advisory Council
  • Brian Hook, from the Wilson Center for Scholars
  • Keisha Lance Bottoms, Member of the Export Council

Trump’s post clarified that the announcement serves as an official termination notice for the four individuals and hinted at impending dismissals for others.

During his election campaign, Trump emphasized reducing government expenditure, streamlining bureaucracy, and enhancing efficiency within federal departments.
